LRRH Progress Log #4

1 Month, 6 Days...

Selected work-out song for Log #4 - DJ Shah, Who Will Find Me

Fabulous, beautiful ride last weekend with Lea.

30 miles... (remember LRRH will be 80)

Strong, horrific winds...

1 crazy car that almost killed both of us... (first time ever being buzzed). I screamed at the guy - though I doubt he heard me.

I signed up for the Goldilocks race next Saturday AM in Herriman. It's my "practice" ride before Little Red in June. The "dress rehersal" - if you will. Only 1/2 the mileage of Little Red - but should be a good race regardless.

PS -The selected work-out song above is ideal for racing across breathtaking landscapes and vistas. It's my favorite part of the ride.

Why We'll Never Need Lawn Service

The BEST was the lawn crew across the street. They were watching Our Big Guy with a mixture of displeasure and amusement. They haven't tried to sell us any packages since...

Why Yes! Of Course We Celebrated Easter...

So even though Mom here has either had her head stuck in a helmet or in a swim cap most of the time these days, I did emerge briefly a few weeks ago - remembered I actually had kids - and took a break.

So yes, we DID celebrate Easter with these two boys -

And this Pretty Girl -

And these crazy guys -

LRRH Progress Log #3

1 Month, 19 Days...

Selected work-out song for Log #3 - Boys Like Girls, Love Drunk

(Only took 1 year to overcome my irrational fear and I haven't fallen...yet)

This morning was the first outdoor ride of the season. Thank you Lea for coming with me and for the excellent Zupas food after.

Now that I'm not so clueless when it comes to bike maintenance, first thing I did this morning was lube my bike chain and pump up my tires.

It was a fantastic, beautiful ride!

Great way to start off the spring season. Headed out again tomorrow AM with some women from my neighborhood. Must increase my mileage if I'm going to break the 80 at Little Red.

PS - I love the selected work-out song for this log. It's currently my favorite choice for hitting those hills. If you're in need of good work-out music, try this one.

Best Line from Conference

I love General Conference. Even though I usually only catch about 1/2 the talks - thanks to the ever present running around & noise of my little ones.

Julie Beck's talk was like my own personal revelation. Here's my favorite line.

Life is not calm for most women, and each day seems to require the accomplishment of a million things, most of which are important.

Oh my gosh. Thank you, thank you! Finally, a woman who understands priorities. That it's not simply about getting rid of those things that are not important. Because lets face it - it's all important. It's not simple.

The rest of the talk is equally fabulous and you can link to it here.

A Meeting of the Hands

I have no idea what was being discussed here. But apparently it was pretty intense cousin talk.

They agreed to take a five minute recess over dinner...

We're still waiting for them to post the minutes to the meeting.
