They're Home!!!

They have Nathan!! Brent and Nathan after many many stressful hours and days are home!!

If you read the previous post, you'll be very sad to hear that Jessica did not make it. They found her, she's alive - but the birth father refused to let Brent see her. Here's the story. It's heartbreaking.

But there is so much to be thankful for and rejoice over!! Even I was doubtful the PM would sign the papers, that the plane would wait for them, that they would actually let them leave. I need to have more faith in the reality of miracles...

They are home!!!!

The Problem with Pretty Girl

You know when you drop your toddlers/babies off with someone for a few hours - you inevitably hand off the diaper bag. Just in case a few "accidents" happen while you're away.

You know what "accidents" I'm talking about.

That's the beautiful part (the only beautiful part) of our situation with Pretty Girl. We don't have to leave a diaper bag with anyone. Because we know she will never have those kinds of "accidents".

The only time Pretty Girl decides she's finally held out long enough to have an "accident", it comes while she's asleep....or in the tub....or screaming bloody murder in my arms.

Yes, we've tried about everything.

Yes, we have a BIG bottle of MiraLAX in our home (I can only imagine what guests are thinking...).

Yes, I'm actually blogging about this.

It turns out the old parental sayings are very true. You can make your kids do just about anything except eat, sleep and have "accidents". I'm in serious trouble. Potty training season is 5 months away....

Our 8 Month Project

Yes...we're lame. We really are. Not only lame - we're lazy.

8 months ago we started transforming Big Guy's room. 8 long months.

We finished last week.

Yes - we're lame.

BEFORE (notice the blinding blue walls)

Merry Christmas 2009

In early November, my good friend asked if I wanted to make quilts with her for Christmas. Of course being ME (clueless sewing person extraordinaire) I jumped at the chance.

And the night before Christmas Eve, I finished the last stitch of 3 quilts.

It was a lovely Christmas.
