Harder Than I Thought It Would Be

We knew this day would come. We just never expected it to be so soon or in the exact opposite direction from where we came.

Greg got a job offer last weekend. It was something we weren't looking for. The opportunity found us. And we were skeptical at first. Even after the interview we resolved to move forward acting as though it wouldn't happen.

Well...it's happening.

This is much harder than I thought it would be. Very bittersweet in so many ways. There is still so much to see, places to run and explore, apples to pick and crabs to watch. What's coming is more about Greg's career plans than location - even though the location does have it's benefits. It's just sad to leave this one behind.

We have a few weeks left before we leave for Utah - weeks we'll visit our family's favorite spots and enjoy those last evenings on our front porch soaking in the New England air.

What a treasured, wonderful experience to have lived here!

You are such a planner and for this to "surprise" you - and to happen so quickly! - I'm sure there are lots of mixed feelings. FYI, there are lots of people cheering here in UT for your return... and I"m sorry for CT's loss... but then again, I'm not really.....

Your moving to Utah?! Wow! Thats awesome, but I'm sure it will be hard to live in a place that you love so much. It will be fun to see you in Utah sometime!

Your blog looks really cute!

That sounds very familiar! We are so excited for you guys and even more excited that you're headed our direction, it feels really weird out here without our Connecticut friends. You'll have to let us know when you're coming out here and where you're going to be living, we'd love to get together.

Good luck over the next few weeks with everything!

What in the world?! You can't LEAVE!!! You've still gotta come on an adventure to Philly with us! And a million other places! I feel like you just got here.
Glad you get to move somewhere cheaper. My jealous side is rearing it's ugly head right now. Let me know what I can do to help before you go.

I am so dang excited! Yeah!!!! When are you moving exactly? Who is Greg working for? Where are you going to live exactly? I know CT is a wonderful place but it will be good to have you back home. Let me know the details. Good luck with everything.

Wow Rachael. That is great news for us; mixed news for you, I'm sure. Let me know if you need help with anything in the next few weeks with the move, etc.

There are very few families who have taken advantage of enjoying their surroundings like you have this year. Hope that this transition goes well!

Mom told me the news. Congratulations! I thought you would feel like it was bittersweet. But, we'll be happy to have you closer to us. More play dates for the kids to get used to one another. Ethan tells every stranger he knows about his cousins including James and Andrew. Are you going to live in Salt Lake? Come look in Bountiful!

So, does that mean you are moving to Utah for a job or are you staying in Utah while you find a place to live? We are confused...
